The Race S is the original Race scaled down for smaller wrists: a 45mm case, a 1.32-inch AMOLED, and 60g in steel against the Race’s 83g. It keeps dual-band GPS, free offline topo maps with 32GB of storage, Climb Guidance, and the SuuntoPlus app store. The smaller body brings the compromises: Gorilla Glass instead of sapphire, 50m water resistance, 30 hours of dual-band GPS, and only nine days as a smartwatch. It predates the Race 2, so it misses that watch’s redesigned heart rate sensor and faster processor, and Suunto left it out of the summer 2026 feature update. At $349 it now overlaps the Run 2, which trades the app store and Climb Guidance for music and a brighter screen.
