The Gen 2 Air is RingConn’s entry ring, and at $199 it costs half what an Oura Ring 5 does before Oura’s membership even starts. RingConn settled with Oura and licensed its patents in October 2025, which is why it is still sold in the US while Ultrahuman’s older ring is not. Saving $100 over the Gen 2 means a few plain compromises: stainless steel instead of titanium, which pushes the weight to 2.5–4g; up to 10 days of battery instead of 12; a magnetic dock instead of a charging case; and no sleep apnea monitoring at all. The core tracking is intact — 24/7 heart rate, HRV, SpO₂, skin temperature, respiratory rate, sleep stages, stress, and cycle predictions — with nothing behind a paywall. If apnea screening is why you want a ring, pay for the Gen 2.
