The Street X is Polar going after the budget end, and on battery it lands: ten days in watch mode, 43 hours of continuous GPS, 28g without the strap. It is also the first Polar with a built-in flashlight, red-light mode included. The compromise is underneath — Precision Prime Gen 3.5 optical HR and skin temperature, with no wrist ECG and no SpO2, which puts it outside the Elixir family that defines the Vantage and Grit lines. Navigation is breadcrumbs and komoot turn-by-turn rather than real offline maps. For someone who wants Polar’s free analytics on a running watch and does not care about biosensing, the numbers are hard to argue with.
Strengths
- 10-day watch mode and 43 GPS hours at $249
- First Polar with an integrated flashlight, red-light mode included
- 170+ sport profiles with the full free Flow analytics suite
Tradeoffs
- No wrist ECG or SpO2 — it skips the Elixir platform
- Older Gen 3.5 optical sensor rather than the current one
- Breadcrumb navigation only; no full offline maps
