Google Pixel Watch 4
The first watch that can call for help from a satellite — and it finally lasts past dinner.
The Pixel Watch 4 fixes the two things that held the line back. Thirty hours with the always-on display running is a real day and a half, and the new side-mounted dock refills it from empty in about 45 minutes while keeping the screen readable. The domed display curves into the edge for 10% more usable area at 3000 nits. Where it pulls ahead of everything else is safety: standalone satellite SOS that works with no phone and no signal, Loss of Pulse Detection, fall and crash detection, and ECG. Dual-frequency GPS finally makes it honest for city running. The Gemini-powered Health Coach and the deepest sleep analysis sit behind Google Health Premium.
Strengths
- Standalone satellite SOS — no phone, no signal needed
- Loss of Pulse Detection alongside ECG and AFib alerts
- Empty to full in about 45 minutes
Tradeoffs
- No blood pressure or body composition, unlike the Galaxy Watch 8
- Google Health Premium gates the AI coach and deepest analytics
- Android-only, and 30 hours still trails the Galaxy Watch Ultra badly
