Garmin Instinct E
The cheapest way into an Instinct — and Garmin trimmed exactly what you would miss.
The Instinct E is the budget rung of the line: same fibre-reinforced polymer case, same 10ATM rating, same MIL-STD-810 certification, in a choice of two sizes. Sixteen days of smartwatch battery, forty in battery saver, 24 hours of GPS off a monochrome MIP screen. Core health tracking survives intact — HRV Status, Body Battery, advanced sleep with nap detection, Health Snapshot, incident detection — with no subscription. But the cuts land where you notice them: no Garmin Pay, no music, no solar option, and neither Training Readiness nor Sleep Coach, both of which Garmin kept for the Instinct 3. It has since been discounted below its launch price.
