The 570 sits below the 970 but shares its multi-band GNSS with SatIQ, its skin temperature sensor, and its speaker and mic. Both case sizes cost the same, which is unusual and welcome. What Garmin held back is hardware rather than software: no onboard maps, no ECG app, no flashlight, 8GB of storage instead of 32, and Gorilla Glass over aluminium rather than sapphire over titanium. Training Readiness, HRV Status, Race Predictor, and the Evening Report are all present, so the training gap is much narrower than the price gap suggests. Odd omission: the cheaper Venu 3 has an ECG and this does not.

Strengths

  • Identical multi-band GNSS and SatIQ hardware to the 970
  • Speaker and mic for on-watch calls at a mid-tier price
  • Two case sizes at the same price, both with Training Readiness

Tradeoffs

  • No ECG app, despite the cheaper Venu 3 having one
  • No onboard maps — breadcrumb navigation only
  • 8GB storage and Gorilla Glass rather than sapphire
