The Fenix E is the entry point into the Fenix line, and Garmin was smart about where it economised. The case, the 1.3-inch AMOLED, the 16-day battery, and 42 hours of GPS all match the 47mm Fenix 8. The software is untouched: Training Readiness, HRV Status, Sleep Coach, topo mapping, Garmin Pay, onboard music, none of it subscription-gated. What went missing is hardware — no ECG, no skin temperature, no speaker or mic, no flashlight, no depth sensor, and single-band rather than multi-band GNSS. If you train on land and do not need voice or diving, this is the cheapest route to the full Fenix training stack.
