The Fenix 5 (2017) cemented the multi-sport playbook: 24h GPS, Firstbeat-powered VO2 max and recovery time, and a transflective display you could actually read mid-trail. No music, no contactless pay, no SpO2 — music and Garmin Pay arrived on the Fenix 5 Plus the following year, and Pulse Ox only on the 5X Plus.
