The Ultra 2 took the Apple Watch formula and pushed the battery, brightness, and durability past where multi-day endurance work used to demand a Garmin. iPhone-only, but for an iPhone household it was the most capable smartwatch you could buy — and no subscription is needed for health trends or Training Load, which are free in the Health and Workout apps. Superseded by the Ultra 3 in September 2025.
Strengths

Tradeoffs

- Battery still half of an equivalent Garmin
- Discontinued — the Ultra 3 adds satellite messaging and 42-hour battery
