The Series 8 added the temperature sensor to enable retrospective ovulation estimates and slightly more accurate sleep tracking. Otherwise it is the Series 7 with a refresh — fine if you find one cheap. Training Load and the watchOS sleep tools reached it in later releases, so the software gap against newer models is smaller than the spec sheet suggests.
