The T-Rex Dual Solar pairs an AMOLED screen with solar charging, and it charges from both sides: a panel in the display, and a glass-ceramic caseback with more than twice the active area, meant to face the sky while the watch hangs off your pack. Amazfit rates it at 25 days of typical use, 34 with three hours of daily sun on the front, and 51 on the back. Making room costs a smaller 660mAh battery and 1.32-inch screen than the T-Rex Ultra 2’s, for $100 more. In independent testing, on-wrist solar gains were negligible, and the rear panel overheated — and stopped charging — within ten minutes in hot sun. Otherwise it is a full T-Rex: titanium bezel, sapphire, 10ATM with 50m dive support, dual-band GPS, flashlight, and −30°C cold mode.
