The Active 3 Premium is Amazfit’s entry-level running watch, and the first Active with four buttons — which matters more than it sounds when you are lapping intervals with sweaty hands. The 45mm stainless-steel case carries a 1.32-inch, 3,000-nit AMOLED under sapphire, and the running toolkit borrows from the Cheetah line: running power, lactate threshold, ground contact time, Zepp Coach plans, and turn-by-turn offline maps, with 4GB for maps and music. The trade for a 38g case is battery: 12 days typical and 24 hours of GPS, against 25 days and 64 hours from the same-priced Active Max. GPS is also single-band, which reviewers noticed on harder routes. Buy it for fit and build; buy the Max if you would rather charge once a month.
